At least three people were killed and 30 others injured in a bus in Gopalganj. Gopalganj fire service inspector Niamul Huda said that the accident happened at Dhaka-Khulna Highway in Begumgram area around 4am on Sunday.
He said the ‘Golden Line’ transport bus was going to Pirojpur with a passenger from Dhaka. The accident occurred when a driver lost control over the bus in Badgram area.
Three people including one child were killed on the spot. Firefighters rescued the injured and sent them to Gopalganj General Hospital.
Two of the victims were identified. They are Mohiuddin Mridha (35) and his son Rahat Mridha (5) of Lahori village in Pirojpur district.
Among the injured, Masud Rana student of Jagannath University was going to the village of Pirojpur on Eid holiday.
He told reporters at Gopalganj General Hospital, “The driver was driving the speed at the speed with his eyes. At one stage, the bus fell into a ditch by the road after the road was lost. “
