The death toll from the coronavirus or COVID-19 has climbed to 10,047 globally as of Friday. It has so far infected 245,834 people around the world, according to worldometer.
Of them, 147,346 are currently being treated with 7,378 being in serious or critical condition. So far, 98,488 cases had outcomes and of them, 88,441 (90 percent) recovered and 10 percent died.
Bangladesh reported its first death from the coronavirus on Wednesday when an elderly man has died from the Covid-19 disease in the country. Besides, the total number of coronavirus cases in the country has reached 20.
COVID-19 is affecting 180 countries and territories around the world and one international conveyance (the Diamond Princess cruise ship harboured in Yokohama, Japan). The World Health Organization on March 11 declared the coronavirus crisis a pandemic.
