The government has closed the National Zoo in Dhaka’s Mirpur area as part of a measure to combat the spread of coronavirus.
“The National Zoo in Dhaka will remain shut from Friday to till March 31,” said a press release of the Fisheries and Livestock Ministry on Friday.
Fisheries and Livestock Minister SM Rezaul Karim has urged all concerned to cooperate in this regard.
He said they decided to close the National Zoo to prevent the transmission of corona virus through the presence of visitors to the zoo.
“Whenever necessary, the government is taking all steps to check the spread of the virus,” the minister added.
Meanwhile, three more people have been diagnosed with coronavirus infection in Bangladesh.
With the fresh cases, the number of coronavirus cases in the country has risen to 20.
